July 4th!!!

Saturday is, of course, the 4th of July. Red, white and blue is optional. It would not be a good idea to run anywhere near the parade route so we selected the bike trial north. Park on 3 Mile Road just west of Douglas Ave (park here). Coffee TBA. Mocha Lisa is uncertain, but I am sure DeRango's on Douglas will be available and has enough space to accommodate us.

Saturday Run

I have photos of some of you from the Lighthouse Run, but they are on my daughter's camera. I will have Vova squeeze them out of that little box and transferred to my computer. I am afraid that I was daydreaming for some and just plain clumsy for others. I know for Rich I hit the power button rather than the shutter release. Kristin absolutely forbad me from recording her.

I have been looking into purchasing a waterproof seat cover to protect my car seat after running. I have used a towel up to now but that is not the greatest.

Below is a link to a company that supplies seat covers to athletes and I was wondering if there might be enough interest in the running group for us to get a bulk order discount (more than 12).

We could even get the logo put on them. Would you mind sending this email out to the group?
Anyone who is interested can email me and I will pull together the information.

I have spoken to the company and, if we put together an order for 12 of the elite/ultra combined, the cost of each would drop to $24 and $29 respectively with a charge of only $1 per cover for shipping.

Anniversary Run – June 13, 2009

This week is the Caner Relay and I understand some will want to participate in that even.

So some will be at Case High School and the rest will run the Oakes Road Run.  Meet at Oakes Road north of Washington Ave.  Park here

Coffee will be Panera.

A historical note: this group started when Tom, Ralph and I first met running the Cancer Relay. Tom and I were circling the track in preparation for the Chicago marathon and were running for Downtown Rotary. Ralph was running for Johnson Bank, Chester Lynn’s employer.  As best as I recall that was 2002 so me mark the 7^th anniversary of sorts this Saturday. Good for all of us because we are all so grand.

Well I was mistaken when I thought that I was going rafting last weekend. Tom, Vova ion and I will be gone this upcoming weekend. We are hoping for some heavy rain up north through Thursday.
